In 1955, Edward “Lee” Schield envisioned storm doors that could withstand the brutal winters of Medford, Wisconsin. Using his personal savings, he purchased aluminum extrusion parts and hand-assembled storm doors for homeowners in the Central Wisconsin area. This set the stage for what would become the nation’s leading manufacturer of windows and doors.
Today, Weather Shield remains family owned, backed by more than 2,000 employees, each committed to providing high-end windows and doors to architects and homebuilders, and exceeding the expectations of our customers.
